Four threads
The work crosses disciplines, but I keep asking the same thing: how do knowledge, technology and institutions make care more human instead of more distant?
From December 2022 to August 2024 I worked as a caregiver in Oregon for special needs and ventilator-dependent adults, helping with daily living and medications for 5 to 7 patients a week.
My preregistered preprint, The Narrative Fidelity Framework, tests whether AI clinical notes keep what patients say across 536 encounters. I’m also lead author on a scoping review, with USC Norris Medical Library, of the healthcare tasks unpaid family caregivers do at home.
Synic AI builds healthcare tools for people outside big systems: clinical documentation for independent physicians, Synic Evidence for anyone with a health question, Synic Dental and Synic Relay. I also edit Truvace, a public record of AI’s impact.
My essays move through medical science, healthcare AI, history, travel and philosophy. My first public piece was a petition I wrote at 15. You can read the rest on Medium.
